WELCOME TO THE SHARKS SKI CLUB
The club was formed in 1989 by parents whose children skied regularly at Sheffield Ski Village.
Now based at Swadlincote Snowsport Center, the club is run on a voluntary basis by an elected committee.
We are very proud of what we achieve, and became national “Sports Club of the Year” in 2004.
We are affiliated to SnowSport England and have Snowmark Accreditation.

Sharks History
2020-Present
Swadlincote Ski & Snowboard Center
After the start of COVID lockdown, it became clear that an outdoor venue was required that allowed for plenty of fresh air and adequate social distancing.

After the unfortunate series of fires at the Sheffield Ski Village, another venue was required to carry on the Sharks legacy.
1989-2012
Sheffield Ski Village
Sharks Ski Club started its journey at the Sheffield Ski Village. Having our ski home at the Ski Village offered the ideal environment for Sharks to focus on developing technical skills, providing opportunity for freestyle and race training sessions, but more importantly, having fun. If you are not smiling, you are not learning.
The Sharks approach meant that we developed some fantastic, all-rounded skiers as the Sharks instructors encouraged their skiers to take part in everything. We are proud of all the Sharks that have gone on to compete on the national and international stage in moguls, racing, halfpipe and slopestyle. And we have a few notable Olympians who you will find in our hall of fame.
At the Ski Village, Sharks also celebrated our SSE Snowmark accreditation, which we continue today.
All of this is thanks to Molly, Norman and the parent volunteers who give their time and expertise freely to support the Sharks. Its more than just a ski lesson, it’s the Sharks family.
